Plug Power will offer a hydrogen fuel cell propulsion system for delivery vans and light- or medium-duty cargo box trucks this summer in Europe and Asia.

The 30-kilowatt hydrogen fuel cell engine is the latest commercial product from Plug Power's ProGen suite of products, according to the company. The complete 30-kW ProGen engine solution contains the fuel cell stack, required balance of plant, dc-to-dc converter, and cooling.

The modular pre-engineered ProGen engines are designed to allow OEMs to rapidly convert commercial fleet vehicles to zero emission powertrains, ultimately reducing time to market.

The engine is designed to provide a solution to meet the needs of today’s electric vehicle (EV) use-case, including high utilization, extended runtimes, reliable performance in harsh environments, rapid fueling, and zero emissions.

Delivery of the first commercial orders for the 30-kW hydrogen fuel cell engine are scheduled in July to European and Asian on-road e-mobility applications.
