FCA US is recalling an estimated 16,549 2013-2016 model-year Fiat 500e electric cars in the U.S. to update their software.

A routine component check by FCA US revealed that some Fiat 500e cars might misread operating conditions and shut down propulsion. However, the automaker said it isn’t aware of any injuries or accidents related to the problem.

To address the matter, service technicians will install the proper software. Affected vehicle owners will be advised when they should contact a dealer for a service appointment.

The FCA US Customer Care Center can be reached at (800) 853-1403.
