Penske’s Bill Combs Talks Truck Electrification

At the 2019 Fleet Forward Conference, Jim Park, Heavy Duty Trucking’s equipment editor, caught up on camera with Bill Combs, director of connected fleet, Penske Transportation Solutions.

Park asked Combs for insights into Penske’s real-world tests of electric trucks, including deployment of Daimler Trucks North America’s first pre-production electric units with Penske fleet customers.

Combs discusses optimal use cases and ranges for the first electric trucks, as well as charging infrastructure buildout.
