U.S. Plug-In EV Sales Up 23 Percent in 2014

An estimated 119,710 plug-in electric vehicles (EVs) were sold in the U.S. in 2014, a 23-percent increase from 2013 and a 128-percent increase from 2012, InsideEVs.com reported.

The five best-selling plug-in EVs in the U.S. in 2014 were:

1. Nissan LEAF
2. Chevrolet Volt
3. Tesla Model S
4. Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid
5. Ford Fusion Energi

Worldwide plug-in EV sales numbered 283,202 in 2014, according to the report.
