HELLERTOWN, PA -- Gas & Air Systems Inc. (GAS) has formed a joint venture with U.K.-based Hamworthy Compressor Systems to build and market compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling stations in North America.
The new entity will target the fleet market. The designs will permit stations to provide both slow and fast-fill capabilities with synergies between compression service and storage.
“We can now combine the capabilities of the Hamworthy Evergreen compressors with the marketing, engineering and packaging skills of GAS to enter into the growing alternative-fuel market, thereby adding to our already diverse compressor offerings,” said Bob O’Brien, vice president of GAS.
GAS supplies Howden Burton Corblin piston and diaphragm compressors, Hamworthy industrial gas and air compressor lines, as well as dryers, filtration units, refurbished compressors and OEM parts and service to the North American market.
