LANCASTER, WI – Leading Wisconsin energy provider Charter Fuels has partnered with the Alliance AutoGas network to supply regional fleet customers with propane autogas, the world’s most-widely used alternative vehicle fuel. In addition to being affordable and clean-burning, autogas delivers exceptional performance and reliability, making it a smart choice for American fleets.

“We joined industry leader Alliance AutoGas to provide an environmentally friendly, low-cost alternative fuel solution,” says Charter Fuels President and Owner, Douglas M. Pink. “Autogas is an excellent utilization of an abundant domestic resource, and we hope that through Alliance AutoGas, more fleets will have the opportunity to benefit from it. With skyrocketing gas prices, fleets need access to this alternative fuel technology that is here today.”

Alliance AutoGas is a national consortium of companies that delivers a comprehensive program for fleets to get going on propane autogas. Fleets using autogas save more than $1 per gallon versus gasoline, and the overall cost of implementation is significantly less than that of other alternative fuels, such as compressed natural gas. It is also 90 percent American made, so using autogas reduces dependence on foreign oil.

“Charter Fuels has a reputation for honesty and integrity, and we are proud to welcome them to the growing Alliance AutoGas network,” says Alliance AutoGas President Stuart Weidie. “Charter will be a critical asset to our mission of enabling U.S. fleets to run on affordable, American-made, clean-burning propane autogas. Making autogas a viable choice for fleets nationwide is critical to assuring American energy security.”

Family owned and operated for four generations, Charter Fuels has provided the communities it serves with reliable warmth, expert energy solutions and greater peace of mind for more than 86 years. It has offices servicing 46 counties across Wisconsin, upper Michigan, northern Illinois, eastern Iowa and eastern Minnesota. Douglas Pink credits the continued growth and success of the company to the hardworking and dedicated staff, including General Manager Bill Langlois, Corporate Office Manager LuAnne Pink and Controller Denise Jensen. Active in the local community, Charter Fuels donates profits from its pink propane delivery truck in conjunction with the American Breast Cancer Foundation’s “Pink-Ribbon” campaign.

As an Alliance AutoGas partner, Charter Fuels is now supplying area fleets with autogas. Fleet owners and managers that switch to autogas will experience lower fuel costs, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and the benefits of green branding opportunities.
