European Environment Agency Study Shows Drop in CO2 Emissions

Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions decreased 2.6 percent throughout the European Union (EU) as a result of 54.9 percent of diesel vehicles being registered in 2012, according to preliminary data compiled by the European Environment Agency (EEA). Also, 2.2 percent of vehicles in Europe in 2012 were alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs), and the remaining 42.9 percent were gasoline-powered. Since 2000, diesel registrations has grown 23.9 percent within the EU.
