Simulating Distracted Driving Risks

Distracted driving simulators can dramatically – yet safely -- demonstrate the dangers of driving distracted. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department in Tennessee recently purchased such a simulator, and plans to use it as an educational tool at county fairs, schools, churches, and other public gatherings to help combat distracted driving. Video courtesy of WHNT 19.

UPS Rolls Out RNG in Two States

UPS has put steps in place to supply its fleet for Memphis, Tenn. and Jackson, Miss. with an estimated 15 million diesel gallon gas equivalents of renewable natural gas (RNG) as part of a multi-year agreement with Memphis Light, Gas and Water and Atmos Energy Marketing, LLC.

DuPont to Close Tenn. Biofuel Plant

The facility began as a joint project between DuPont and the University of Tennessee Research Foundation. The state legislature in 2007 had approved a $70.5 million investment that included $40.7 million for land acquisition, facilities construction, and equipment.
