XL Hybrids has gained approval from the California Air Resources Board to sell a modified hybrid version of Ford's Transit cargo van to fleets in that state. The XL Hybrids Transit has also gained eligibility for a $2,500 state voucher to defray the cost to fleet purchasers.
The City of Seattle has achieved a 23% increase in miles driven per gallon and a 19% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in its hybrid ambulance vehicles.
