WASHINGTON – Honda recently issued three separate recalls in the U.S., involving Pilots, CR-Vs and CR-Zs.

The first recall involves 310,773 model-year 2009-2011 Pilot vehicles. The stitching that secures the end of the driver and front passenger lap section of the seatbelt may be incomplete or missing, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. As a result, the seatbelt may detach from the anchor webbing, posing a safety risk. This recall is expected to begin in early October. Dealers will make an inspection and replace the seatbelts if necessary free of charge.

In a separate action, Honda is recalling 5,626 model-year 2011 CR-Z vehicles with manual transmission, the NHTSA said. If the engine stalls while the brake pedal is not pressed, the engine control unit software has the potential to cause the electric motor of the hybrid system to move the vehicle unexpectedly in the opposite direction of the selected gear, posing a safety risk. Dealers will update the ECU software free of charge to resolve the problem. This recall is expected to begin later this month.

In addition, Honda is recalling 80,111 model-year 2006 CR-V vehicles because the driver-side power window switch may fail or melt. If melting of the switch occurs, this poses a fire risk. This recall is expected to begin later this month. Dealers will replace the driver side power window switch assembly free of charge.
