General Motors will unveil its redesigned 2016 Chevrolet Volt in late January at the North American International Auto Show, the company has announced.
The Volt battery-electric hybrid is expected to get a significant redesign for the 2016 model year, and may be offered in a lower-priced version. The more affordable Volt would likely have a smaller battery pack and shorter driving range.
The second-generation Volt will be produced at GM's Hamtramck plant, which will get a $384 million upgrade in tooling and equipment.
