Ryder System has opened a natural gas and diesel vehicle maintenance facility in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., to provide vehicle maintenance for Ryder lease and rental customers, mobile maintenance, and a 20-minute rental service guarantee, along with on-site diesel fueling, according to Ryder.

Under Ryder’s full service lease program, commercial vehicles are supported with maintenance and services such as emergency roadside assistance and fueling. Ryder’s maintenance program also allows customers to access the company’s network of facilities and technicians to maintain their truck fleets.

Ryder currently has 14 natural gas vehicle (NGV) maintenance facilities and 1,134 NGV-trained technicians. Its compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) vehicles are deployed in customer fleets in nine states and Canada. The company operates liquefied-to-compressed natural gas fuel stations at two California service locations in Fontana and Orange, and it offers LNG fueling at its Fulton, Ga., maintenance facility.

Since deploying its NGV program in 2011, Ryder has replaced approximately 4.6 million gallons of diesel fuel with domestically produced natural gas, according to the company.
