Debora Frodl, former global executive director for ecomagination at General Electric, has joined XL's board of directors, the vehicle electrification company announced. Frodl’s expertise in alternative-fuel technologies and proven track record in driving financial and operational excellence for fleet businesses will support XL’s worldwide expansion and help increase its market leadership position in the commercial electrification space, according to the company.

Frodl currently serves on the board of directors as well as the nominating and governance committee and risk committee for Renewable Energy Group, Inc. During her tenure at GE, Frodl had a successful track record of leading global business transformation, clean technology innovation and commercial execution to deliver operational and financial results. She joins a prestigious group of senior automotive, energy and fleet leadership professionals on XL’s board of directors and advisory team, with executive-level experience across Ford, GM, FedEx, MIT and others.

Prior to leading the comprehensive Ecomagination strategy, Frodl held roles as GE’s chief strategy officer and global alternative fuels leader, and chief commercial officer for GE Capital Fleet Services. Her experience building and delivering strategic business results through innovation and clean technology will enhance XL’s unique insight into operational and fleet efficiency. 

Tod Hynes, XL’s CEO, founder and fellow board member, added, “Deb’s impressive background and experienced global insights will add a tremendous amount of value to our board.  She is truly one of today’s visionaries in making sustainability profitable, and we’re excited to add her to our leadership team.”
