The El Paso County, Texas, fleet expects to save money after purchasing a machine to run vehicle emissions testing in-house, a job that was previously outsourced, KTSM reported.
The machine costs $15,000, but fleet staff expect it will pay for itself soon. Outsourcing inspections cost up to $40 per vehicle, create more downtime, and require an employee to take time off work.
