Navya and the South Australian government are working together on the development of completely autonomous, all-electric shuttle buses in the region.

The South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill and French company that specializes in developing mobility solutions laid the foundation of a partnership to set up a manufacturing facility in Adelaide for the development of the Navya Arma, an autonomous, electric shuttle. This follows suit with the South Australian government’s focus on becoming carbon neutral and investmenting in renewable energy, according to Navya.

“The Australian government’s enthusiasm for automated vehicle technology and innovation and our need to make our smart mobility solutions readily available to customers in this part of the world has pushed us to explore the possibilities for expansion in the region,” said Christophe Sapet, Navya CEO.

Navya is currently promoting the Navya Arma in Western Australia, as well as other regions across the globe, including France, Switzerland, and Michigan.
