Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has launched a new program to incentivize the adoption of compressed natural gas (CNG).

The Clean Fuel Rebate applies to customers who fill up at PG&E-owned CNG stations in Northern and Central California. PG&E will apply the rebate to customers through an annual credit, beginning in 2017 and expected to run through 2020. This program supports and is funded through a statewide Low Carbon Fuel Standard program.

"Providing this rebate for natural gas vehicles is part of our ongoing commitment to clean transportation. We continue to support our customers who are adopting clean fuels to reduce their environmental impact and move towards the state's clean energy future," said Aaron Johnson, PG&E vice president of customer energy solutions.
