Tesla Motors Inc. has changed its name to Tesla Inc. to reflect CEO Elon Musk's desire to transport the company into a more diverse energy company rather than just an electric car maker, reports Reuters.
In November, Tesla acquired SolarCity for about $2 billion.
In August, Tesla hired fleet industry veteran Michael Stafford as its North American corporate sales manager.
