DHL Express has ordered 45 battery-electric vans from Zenith Motors, announced UQM Technologies, which has provided propulsion systems for the vehicles.

DHL has invested nearly $50 million in its fleet over the last two years, reducing average vehicle age from 6.7 years in 2012 to 3.6 years today. This purchase is a part of a clean vehicle initiative by the parcel delivery company to add a variety of clean vehicles to its U.S. fleet.

The Zenith delivery vehicles are powered by the UQM PowerPhase Pro 135 propulsion systems. The PowerPhase Pro 135 provides a peak torque of 340 Newton meters, peak power of 135 kilowatts, and 80 kilowatts of continuous power, according to UQM.
