Tesla Motors may be extending the range of its Model S battery-electric vehicle, CEO Elon Musk tweeted on March 15.
Musk tweeted that Tesla will launch a software update that will "end range anxiety" and affect the "entire Model S fleet," while adding that the company will have a press conference on Thursday at 9 a.m. West Coast time.
The Model S equipped with the 85 kW lithium-ion battery provides an EPA-rated range of 265 miles, which is the longest range among electric vehicles now on the market.
