Porsche will introduce a plug-in hybrid version of its Cayenne luxury SUV at the Paris Motor Show next month, which adds a third plug-in hybrid offered by the luxury automaker.
The 2015 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid would be offered alongside the Cayenne S Hybrid, which has no plug.
Porsche is adding a lithium-ion traction battery with a 10.8-kilowatt capacity to improve performance, especially in all-electric mode. The electric motor's power has been doubled to 95 horsepower from 47, which provides an all-electric top speed of 78 mph.
The electric motor is paired with a 3.0L supercharged V-6. The vehicle can now reach 0-62 mph in 5.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 151 mph.
