Chrysler and Landi Renzo USA, the American branch of the alternative-fuel system manufacturer, announced March 19 the joint development of a high-level luxury passenger vehicle operating on both gasoline and natural gas.

"We are excited to have this opportunity of working with Chrysler, which has demonstrated how collaboration between experienced management and a talented team of engineers can yield positive, influential results in the alternative fuels market," said Andrea Landi - Landi Renzo USA CEO and president. "We are particularly excited at the opportunity to continue our support of this important business relationship between the two companies."

Relationships between Landi Renzo and Chrysler, through Fiat Group in Europe, extend into global markets where the two have converted more than 290,000 alternative fueled vehicles since 2009, when Landi Renzo was selected as Fiat's system supplier.

"Working side by side with the Chrysler team has been an absolute pleasure and we look forward to additional opportunities of partnering on any future projects," said Marco Genova - Landi Renzo USA VP of Engineering.

The Chrysler 300 will be used for promotion around the country to educate and promote the use of alternative fuels as an option to reducing environmental footprint while saving on fuel consumption and using a domestic resource.
