BAR HARBOR, ME – Downeast Transportation’s Island Explorer fleet of propane-powered shuttle buses were recently showcased on the MotorWeek program as a Clean Cities Success Story.

Downeast Transportation acquired its first propane buses in 1999 and now has a total of 35 buses that shuttle visitors to a variety of local sites including Acadia National Park. The Island Explorer features eight bus routes linking hotels, inns, and campgrounds with destinations in Acadia National Park and neighboring village centers.
