The newspaper interviewed CODA CEO Phil Murtaugh while he was attending the Washington Auto Show.

CODA has five dealers committed to selling the vehicle, including one in San Diego and another in the San Francisco Bay Area.

During the interview, Murtaugh noted that the company has a pending application for a federal government loan under the Department of Energy's Advanced Technology Vehicle Loan program. Approval of the loan will determine whether CODA can shift its manufacturing operations from China to the U.S., he said.
