PASADENA, CA – Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on Oct. 11 at the Hybrid Truck Users Forum (HTUF) National Conference & Expo 2011 in Baltimore. O'Malley is expected to discuss the success of green fleet programs such as the Maryland Hybrid Truck Initiative.

The HTUF event will be held Oct. 10-13 at the Baltimore Convention Center. In its 11th year, HTUF was founded by CALSTART and the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center's National Automotive Center (TARDEC). HTUF is operated by CALSTART under contract to the U.S. Army.

CALSTART is a consortium that works with business, fleets and government to develop and implement clean, efficient transportation solutions.

In related news, the International Trade Administration (ITA) last week announced an award to CALSTART to help U.S. companies promote the export of American medium- and heavy-duty clean vehicle technology to China.

"U.S. firms we work with are among the world leaders in hybrid, electric and advanced clean truck and bus technology and China is becoming the world's leading commercial vehicle market,” said John Boesel, president and CEO of CALSTART. “Our U.S.-China Clean Truck Technology Forum will link these players to form partnerships, speed clean tech market introductions, and create export and job growth opportunities for U.S. firms."
