SAN DIEGO - The 40 winners of the 2010 Government Green Fleet Awards were announced at the  Green Fleet Conference in October, with the City of Seattle named as the No. 1 Government Green Fleet in North America. Tom Johnson, author of the 100 Best Fleets program, presented an award and $1,000 check to Dave Seavey, fleet manager for the City of Seattle.

The annual Government Green Fleet Award is open to all federal, state, and local government fleets in North America. Evaluation standards are divided into the following categories: fleet composition, fuel and emissions, policy and planning, fleet utilization, education, executive and employee involvement, and supporting programs.

This year's judges were Rhea Courtney Bozic from Clean Cities New York; David Mills, former fleet supervisor for the City of Oceanside, Calif.; Steve Riley, director of fleet operations for the City of Coral Gables, Fla.; and Paul Condran, fleet manager for the City of Culver City, Calif., and last year's No. 1 Green Fleet award winner.
