PARIS - French carmaker Renault aims to produce more than 200,000 electric vehicles per year by 2015-2016, according to the French paper La Tribune, citing company sources.
At least 150,000 will be "Zoe" cars, which will be launched in mid-2012 using a modified version of the Clio platform, La Tribune reported.
According to La Tribune, Renault said its electric vehicles will account for a higher share of its overall production than the 5 percent estimated for the industry in 2015-2016.
