SANTA ANA, CA - IMPCO Technologies Inc. has received a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency certificate of conformity covering the company's 3.5L and 3.9L Chevy Impala and Buick Lucerne bi-fuel conversions, NGV Global reported.

The company's bi-fuel conversion system enables cars to run on natural gas or propane, as well as gasoline, in order to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on petroleum. IMPCO is a subsidiary of Fuel Systems Solutions.

The certificate of conformity covers installations completed by Dec. 31, 2011. IMPCO's 2009 certificate remains active for conversions completed by the end of this calendar year.

IMPCO Technologies has been in business for over 50 years, opening its first facility in 1958. The company manufactures products that enable internal combustion engines to operate on cleaner-burning fuel. These products help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and distributors satisfy more stringent customer specifications and government emissions regulations.
