WHITE PLAINS, NY - Westchester County will hold a Fleet and Equipment Demo Day June 2 as a shared county service to keep the local municipalities informed about vehicle safety, green and new technology, the latest equipment, and important operational and maintenance issues, according to Westchester.com.

Taking place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Playland Park in Rye, the event is open to police, fire and emergency workers, as well as municipal fleet management and maintenance professionals. County Executive Rob Astorino is scheduled to present opening remarks.

The yearly event is organized by the county departments of Public Works, Emergency Services, and Public Safety in conjunction with the Westchester Educational Safety Training (W.E.S.T.) Committee.

Attendees can expect to address vehicle repair methods, recalls, and service issues directly with manufacturers who will be present at this event.

New this year, General Motors and Ford will unveil their latest police sedan vehicles at the show, according to Westchester.com. The manufacturers will also show the latest technologies for police, fire and first responder's vehicles.

Additional highlights will include:

  • Emergency preparedness networking.
  • Equipment and resource information from the National Guard and MTA Police.
  • Demo of the state Office of Fire Prevention and Control's "Smoke House and Sprinkler" and Westchester County Airport's crash rescue team.
