MADISON, WI - New technology is on its way to Dane County that local leaders hope will reduce fuel costs for their fleet vehicles, according to wkowtv.com.

County Executive Kathleen Falk unveiled the new technology April 29, which includes cars and trucks that run on compressed natural gas (CNG).

Falk said this will save the county money and clean up our air, reported wkowtv.com.

"CNG reduces carbon monoxide emissions by 90 percent," said Falk. "It gives off little or no particulate matter, and that's important here because we have a particulate problem in our air."

Organizers also hope to open a CNG re-fueling station that re-uses gas from the county landfill.
