ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Coca-Cola Enterprises deployed seven hybrid-electric delivery trucks at its Albuquerque sales and distribution center Oct. 1. The trucks will be used on routes throughout Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Los Lunas, and Belen, according to New Mexico Business Weekly.

Lawrence Rael, executive director for the Mid-Region Council of Governments (MCOG), said the Albuquerque area is one of the first regions in the country to use the vehicles. Scott Walter of Coca-Cola Enterprises Bottling Co. of Albuquerque said the new fleet is part of its environmental goals.

Coca-Cola Enterprises is ranked the sixth largest commercial fleet in the U.S. on Automotive Fleet's 2009 Top 300 Commercial Fleets listing with a total of 28,038 vehicles. This total does not include the new additions.
