IRVING, TX - Jerry Meyer, a 30-plus year employee of General Motors, will retire Oct. 1. In his most recent role as government sales and alternative fuels manager for GM's South Central Region, Meyer handled fleet accounts in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska.

Prior to his current role, Meyer began his career with GM as a district sales manager in Missoula, Mont. He later held various roles within the company, working in the distribution center, fleet sales, and building the used car database for GM. Meyer has worked with approximately one-third of all GM dealerships and all major leasing and auction companies in both the U.S. and Canada, and has been actively involved with the NAFA Fleet Management Association, the National Auto Auction Association, and Clean Cities groups for many years.

"My GM family has brought value, challenges, and joy to my life. I want to thank them for making my life so rewarding," said Meyer.

Upon retirement, "I will continue my journey by selling something somewhere...yelling that old refrain 'thanks for the ride' and 'good selling'," Meyer said.
