Another airport has joined the club of electric vehicle users.

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport purchased a Cushman electric utility truck. The $22,000 vehicle will be used by the parking management staff, according to Edmunds Green Car Advisor.

The Cushman can run up to 55 miles on a single charge, and will cost approximately $200 to charge throughout the course of a year.  Compare that to the $818 it would cost the airport to fuel a Ford Escape Hybrid or $1,653 it would cost to fuel a F-150 pickup truck.

Although the airport also added 10 wind powered generators, the airport does not intend to use them to charge the vehicle.

The airport expects to add additional electric vehicles to its fleet, with the airport's director of public affairs saying the airport could end up with 20 to 30 electric vehicles if they perform well.
