DES PLAINES, IL – Wheels, Inc. has been named a finalist in the American Business Awards (a.k.a. "The Stevies") "Most Innovative Company" category. In addition, Wheels' EcoWheels program has been named a finalist in the "Corporate Environmental Responsibility Program of the Year" category.

Another component to being named finalist was Wheels innovative development process, created and implemented to incorporate multiple stages of IT development into the launch platform, thereby involving everyone from the get-go.

The EcoWheels program, which was officially launched in 2007, combines new solutions and technologies with proven best practices to help companies reduce their fleets' overall emissions while continuing to operate efficiently and effectively. The program includes tools to aid in selecting vehicles, changing driver behavior, optimizing routes and emissions reporting.

"Wheels remains fully committed to long-term investment, development, and enhancements to our information systems and customer programs, so that we can continue to provide the best level of service to our clients," said Stratford Dick, senior director of marketing for Wheels. "We are proud that the American Business Awards judges have recognized our commitment to innovation and corporate responsibility."

Stevie Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Monday, June 22 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.  The American Business Awards are the nation's premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit entries to the ABAs - public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories.

"Despite very tough economic conditions, many organizations and individuals continue to perform well," said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards.  "The results of the 2009 ABAs thus far are a testament to the resilience, creativity, and hard work of American organizations, executives, and workers."
