WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The first of three hybrid bucket trucks ordered by Palm Beach County, Fla., 18 months ago has been delivered. The two other trucks, which are configured differently, should be delivered in the next 30 days, according to Doug Weichman, director of fleet management for Palm Beach County.

"We are working with the Fire Department to train firefighters on how to respond and deal with a hybrid truck if they ever need to respond to an incident involving one," said Weichman.

Palm Beach County is the only government in Southeastern U.S. to currently have a hybrid bucket truck, according to the truck manufacturer.

The addition of these three units brings the total hybrid vehicles in Palm Beach County's fleet to 203.
