The City of Muncie introduced 28 new compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles at a dedication ceremony, which took place at the Muncie Sanitary District’s GreenLine CNG station.

All of the new vehicles are from Ford, and each vehicle is equipped with bi-fuel CNG systems, capable of carrying 8.5 gasoline gallon equivalents (GGEs) of CNG as well as regular gasoline.

At the event, MPD Chief of Police Joe Winkle said the agency hopes to add more of these vehicles over the next few years.
