General Electric's Wayne has supplied compressed natural gas (CNG) dispensers for the first fuel retail site at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, the company announced.

The Wayne Global Star CNG X11-11 fuel dispenser was displayed at a ceremony for the opening of the fuel station, which will serve fleet and passenger vehicles, as well as buses transporting athletes and spectators during the games.

Russia holds the largest natural gas reserves in the world, and government officials have recommended a CNG fueling option at the country's fueling stations, according to the company.

Wayne previously provided fueling equipment for the Olympic Games in London in 2012, when the Helix fuel dispenser was used.

The Wayne Global Star V dispenser, available in more than 400 configurations, supports alternative fuels such as E-85, propane autogas, AdBlue, and biodiesel. It is also available with a vapor recovery system that's compliant with Stage II environmental regulatory standards.
