Testing of five dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) delivery trucks began in Omaha, Neb. for Ameripride Services, a linen and uniform rental service company. Green Alternative Systems (GAS), a company that designs, converts, and installs dedicated CNG and propane autogas alternative fuel systems for buses, trucks, and commercial vehicles, installed Ameripride's fully operational Ford 5-550 chassis with 6.8L V-10 engines using BAF Technologies CNG-dedicated equipment, according to GAS.

Fuel is gathered from the Metropolitan Utility District’s (M.U.D.) publicly accessible station on Interstate-80 in Omaha. Each gallon of CNG is available for less than $2 per gasoline gallon equivalent, according to GAS. These two factors allow companies and individuals in the Omaha area to fill up quickly and efficiently while also realizing the economic and environmental benefits of using an alternative fuels converted vehicle, GAS said.
