SACRAMENTO - The California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE) announced Feb. 17 the addition of two new vehicles eligible for rebates under the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP). The 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid and the 2012 Chevrolet Volt with Low Emissions Package are now eligible for $1,500 rebates. (The standard 2012 Volt is not eligible.) Individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and government entities are qualified to apply for the rebate if the person or entity is based in California or has a California-based affiliate.

More information about these rebates can be found at the CCSE website. A list of all vehicles eligible for the CVRP is here. Currently, the CCSE estimates it has more than $7 million left in funding for the CVRP.

The Low Emissions Package Volt and Prius plug-in hybrid are also available for green California Clean Air Vehicle decals, which allow a single driver access to high-occupancy carpool lanes. Green stickers are valid through Jan. 1, 2015 and are available to the first 40,000 applicants. Yellow stickers for hybrid vehicles expired July 1, 2011. A full list of vehicles eligible for California Clean Air Vehicle decals can be found here.

Funding for California hybrid buses and trucks is also still available.
