ALPHARETTA, GA - On Feb. 18, LeasePlan USA will host the Government Fleet/100 Best seminar at its headquarters in Alpharetta, Ga.

These one-day seminars take place throughout the country and draw innovative fleet managers. The seminar will focus on the 10 biggest challenges facing fleet managers in 2011, with a roundtable discussion among many leading government fleet professionals in the Southeast. Contract Manager Paul Anderson from the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) will speak about new and innovative purchasing initiatives for government fleets through its National Contract Purchasing programs.

Representatives from the State of Georgia will present real-world solutions that produce results by using examples of its own successful initiatives that garnered change and provided cost efficiencies. Attendees will also hear from Bob Mossing, fleet manager for Washtenaw County, Mich., who saved nearly $500K annually by implementing a managed maintenance program.

In addition, several manufacturers will be on-hand with a product preview of their alternative fuel vehicles. Some of the vehicles expected to be on-site for attendees to view include an Azure Dynamics /Ford Transit Connect Electric, the ROUSH propane powered Ford E-250, the Electric Nissan LEAF, the Chevrolet Volt, and the Toyota Prius Hybrid.

Attendees will hear from LeasePlan experts as well. President and CEO Mike Pitcher will offer solutions from a fleet management company perspective to the biggest challenges facing fleet managers. Also, Bryan Steele, senior vice president, client relations, will talk about the finer points of leasing for government fleets.
