GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA - Gwynedd-Mercy College and U Car Share announced a car sharing partnership on Nov. 1 that will provide students and faculty with car-sharing transportation options. Each shared car takes 15-20 personal cars off the road, and car-sharing partnerships are especially beneficial with educational institutions, as many restrict freshmen from having cars on campus, according to a release from the company.

U Car Share placed two vehicles on campus, a Honda Insight Hybrid and a ULEV Ford Focus, parked in highly visible reserved parking near the residence halls and on campus. The vehicles are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to all students, faculty, and staff members 18 and older.

A limited-time promotion allows new members to sign up for $25 and gives them a $25 driving credit on their account. Members pay for use in hourly rates. Gas, insurance, maintenance, reserved parking spots, and 24/7 roadside assistance are included in the hourly and daily rates.
