Two Ford engines appeared on WardsAuto's 10 Best Engines for 2018, while four alternative fuel powertrains also made the list, the media outlet announced.

The 2.7L twin turbo DOHC V-6 that powers Ford's F-150 and the 5.0L DOHC V-8 that propels the Mustang GT made the annual list.

The 150-kilowatt electric propulsion system in the Chevrolet Bolt EV and the 3.6L Pentastar DOHC V-6 in the plug-in Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid were also named.

Other engines included the 130-kW fuel cell/electric propulsion system in the Honda Clarity; 2.0L VTEC turbocharged DOHC four-cylinder in the Honda Civic Type R, 3.0L turbocharged DOHC V-6 in the Infiniti Q50, 2.0L turbocharged DOHC four-cylinder in the Jaguar XF, 3.3L turbocharged DOHC V-6 in the Kia Stinger, and 2.5L Atkinson DOHC four-cylinder in the Toyota Camry Hybrid.
