Ford plans to reduce the price of its Focus Electric sedan for the 2015 model year by $6,000, according to a report from Leftlane News quoting a dealer document.

The 2015 Focus Electric will retail for $29,995 when it arrives at dealer lots with a sharp reduction from the 2014 model. The price will be applied to any unsold 2014 Focus Electric models still in inventory.

The new pricing strategy will help the vehicle better compete with the Nissan LEAF, which retails starting at $29,860.
