Pennsylvania Extends Alt Fuel Vehicle Rebates

Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection has extended its Alternative Fuel Vehicle Rebate program, which will continue to provide $2,000 rebates for 500 additional large-battery system plug-in hybrid electric and battery-electric vehicles, or until Dec. 31.

PG&E Joins Call for Utilities to Double Plug-In Fleet Investment

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. is joining the Edison Electric Institute’s call to urge utilities to more than double their current investments in electric utility fleet vehicles.

Freightliner Adds 12-Liter Natural Gas Power to 114SD Severe-Duty Model

The increased output of the Cummins-Westport ISX12 G will open new markets to the 114SD, including mixer, dump, and roll-off applications. At 400 horsepower and 1,450 pounds-feet, the IXS12 G is an ideal engine for the severe-duty market, where natural gas is fast becoming an alternative to diesel fuel.

Worthington Introduces 'Spare Tire' Propane Tank

Worthington Industries' propane-autogas fuel tank has been approved by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). The doughnut-shaped, or toroidal, tank fits in the spare tire space of a car or pickup truck, and will be available for order in August.

Omaha Schools’ Propane Bus Investment Pays Off
