Los Angeles Completes Battery-Electric Refuse Truck Demo

The City of Los Angeles Sanitation has completed its battery-electric refuse truck demonstration project with BYD and Wayne Engineering. This demo vehicle logged more than 5,200 miles and drove up to 108 miles per day.

Md. County Adds 16 Bolt EVs

Montgomery County, Md., has purchased 16 new Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles (EVs) at a cost of $622,254. These additions bring the county up to 243 electric and hybrid vehicles.

Gasoline Prices Increase to $2.58

The national average rice of gasoline increased 1 cent to $2.38, two cents more than prices both a month and a year ago. AAA reported that a moderate dip in gasoline prices are normal following long holiday weekends, and prices in 30 states have fallen as much as four cents.

Buick to Offer Mild Hybrid LaCrosse in 2018

The new system features a compact lithium-ion battery pack for torque-assisted launch, regenerative braking, and a smoother stop and start. When paired with a four-cylinder engine, the eAssist system increases city fuel economy by 19% compared to the LaCrosse’s V-6.
