SCHAUMBURG, IL– Coming up with a comprehensive fleet telematics program that not only focuses on driver safety, but also fleet safety, costs and efficiency, has earned Zurich and one of its risk engineers national recognition.

James Noble, Line of Business Director, Motor Fleet, for Zurich Services Corporation’s Risk Engineering department, was named a winner of Risk & Insurance’s 2011 Risk Innovator award for the transportation category.

Noble won the award for the creation of Zurich Fleet Intelligence program, a system that combines vehicle telematics systems with extensive reporting tools that can help fleet managers turn data into insights that can help reduce crash frequency, lower loss and operating costs and increase efficiency.

“Although ZFI was my initial idea, it is a great example of how the team we have here at Zurich came together to bring the idea to life,” Noble said. “I expected ZFI to be a market-leading product when it was designed and it’s great that it is now getting industry recognition.”

The Risk Innovator Award recognizes winners across different industries who have demonstrated innovation and excellence in risk management. These key individuals see risk differently and have resolved risk-related problems in a unique or innovative way. They view risk not only as a threat, but also as an opportunity for their organizations.
