Glastonbury, Conn., Plans to Expand NGV Fleet

GLASTONBURY, CT – The town of Glastonbury, Conn., is taking steps to add up to eight more natural gas-fueled vehicles to its fleet, the Hartford Courant reported.

The town council and board of finance recently approved a transfer of up to $138,000 from a contingency account so the town can acquire the vehicles. Glastonbury’s fleet already includes eight natural gas-fueled vehicles – six sedans and two Dial-A-Ride vans.

Last year, Glastonbury attracted a $490,000 grant from the U.S. Energy Department that helped the town add natural gas vehicles to its fleet and fund construction of a fast-fill natural gas station. The station will be completed later this summer.
