Agility Recalls CNG Fuel Systems for Leaky Hoses

Agility Fuel Systems is recalling 99 side-mount compressed natural gas fuel systems because premature corrosion might lead to fuel leakage that poses a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety reports.

The recall covers Part No. 23736011 fuel systems manufactured from Aug. 1, 2013, through Aug. 21 of this year. The systems are equipped with Motion Industries T1700-06 flexible fuel hoses.

The stainless steel braid reinforcement might corrode prematurely near the fitting crimp inside the slave tank enclosure. If the corrosion progresses and goes undetected, the hose could begin to leak CNG. This condition increases the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source, NHTSA said.

Agility dealers will replace the defective hose assemblies, free of charge. Owners can reach Agility customer service at 1-949-236-5520.
