COLUMBUS, OH – Ohio Governor John Kasich is trying to persuade his fellow Republican governors in Indiana, Michigan and Pennsylvania to join him in transitioning state fleets to vehicles running on compressed natural gas, according to a Bloomberg news report.

Kasich spoke on the subject at a two-day energy conference he convened last month in Columbus. His plan calls for the states to combine their fleet purchases to create an economy of scale.

The four states have nearly 41,000 vehicles in their fleets.
