PASADENA, CA – The Assistant Secretary of Defense, Sharon E. Burke, will address attendees at the 2011 Hybrid Truck Users Forum National Conference in Baltimore Maryland, on October 12, 2011. Burke joins a number of experts who will speak to the more than 800 expected attendees.

Burke is in charge of Operational Energy Plans and Programs for the Department of Defense. She is the principal advisor to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense. HTUF said Burke will highlight the economic and national security benefits of fuel-efficient fleets for commercial and military use.

HTUF focuses on advanced, energy-saving trucks, including hybrid, electric and high-efficiency designs. In addition to military users, commercial fleets such as Coca-Cola, UPS and Constellation Energy will be on hand to discuss their experiences with clean vehicles. Truck and bus industry professionals will provide data on advanced technologies available in the medium and heavy-duty markets, including: BAE Systems, Azure, Hino, Eaton, Siemens, Smith, Bosch Rexroth, Dow Kokam and Freightliner.
