July 26, 2011

WAUKESHA, WI – Odyne Systems LLC and Johnson Controls have formed an agreement where Johnson Controls will supply battery technology for Odyne’s hybrid systems for medium- and heavy-duty trucks. The agreement also designates Johnson Controls-Saft as a “Preferred Supplier” of lithium-ion battery systems for its plug-in hybrid system. Odyne said its system is modular and can be installed on a range of vehicles.

Odyne stated it has developed proprietary and patented hybrid technology that combines electric power conversion, power control, and energy storage technology with Remy advanced electric propulsion motors, modular Johnson Controls-Saft battery systems and other components.
